How to Store Spanish Gourmet Foods

Start with the storage instructions on each package. Foods in a Spanish tasting box can require different conditions, so do not keep every item together just because it arrived in one gift box.

Pantry products

Store shelf-stable tins and dry foods as instructed, away from heat and moisture. Refrigerate items whose labels require it, including some unopened seafood preparations.

Sliced meats and cheese

Keep products requiring refrigeration cold and follow their after-opening instructions. Wrap or cover leftovers with clean food-safe materials and note the opening date.

Whole ham

Use the producer's instructions for the specific leg or boneless piece. Its handling is different from a small sliced pack.

Serving a mixed board

Take out what you intend to serve, keep the remaining products in their required conditions and avoid treating smell or appearance as a safety test.
